Totally over 27 years in Machine Tools Design and Assembly. Kumar started his career in MTB unit of Kennametal Widia India Ltd.

At Kennametal Widia India as Design Engineer he was involved in Design and manufacturing of over 700 various kinds of SPM's. He was instrumental in standardizing of designs of all the main assemblies of the machines. He was also instrumental in design of sub-assemblies as ready to use modules in designs.

Fixture design has been his specialty. He has designed fixtures for VMC's, HMC's Deep hole drilling machines, BTA Boring machines, Milling machines, Facing & Centering machines and host of other SPM's.

During his tenure at Kennametal Widia India he has gained extensive knowledge and work experience in all aspects of Machine tool and Fixture designing. He has vast experience in modular designing. He has made significant contribution in Widia Exporting machines to South East Countries.

From 2005 to 2008 he was one of the Directors of Vasundara Manufacturing Systems Pvt. Ltd which is into Design and Manufacturing of SPM's, GPM's, Fixtures, etc.,

In 2008 he started as a Managing Director of Skanda Machine Tools Pvt.Ltd. which is into Design and Manufacturing of SPM's, GPM's, Fixtures, Coolant Tanks, Headstocks etc., and he heads the Mechanical Department.

He was awarded for his exemplary performance and ingenuity in designs in 2003 and 2004. He is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore.
